Building a multi-disciplinary community of trusted experts to find a cure for rare cancer patients
Clinical Trials
The prospective dataset will initially be collected from patients participating in clinical trials initiated by us in multiple hospitals. Yamicc has now developed the ‘ReDiReCCT-GB trial’ within Erasmus MC and has recently started. In this clinical study, in principle, every new patient with a glioblastoma will participate and be followed from diagnosis. Each patient’s tumor will be fully genetically mapped, and it will be examined whether a drug is available based on the genetic profile.
We will also investigate whether promising drugs can actually reach the tumor cells, and we will use a new biological model to investigate whether a pre-test on the patient’s tumor tissue can prescribe the most effective drug. In this process, existing drugs that have proven effective against other forms of cancer will be tested on a large scale (called drug repurposing). This approach is an important ingredient in cost-effectively achieving improved and personalized treatments.
DataBridge: Our Data Platform for Research
Yamicc is developing a data platform that focuses on easily and securely collecting, processing, and sharing all relevant information. Our data platform, called DataBridge, is designed to make the desired data accessible for the public benefit, including primary care innovation and scientific research. The unlocking, integration, and analysis of data will be made possible from existing data sources (for example, hospital systems and research databases). The data we make available will be used primarily for conducting (multidisciplinary) clinical studies and scientific research.
Partnerships
Creating sustainable partnerships with hospitals, research institutions, other cancer organizations, and patient advocacy groups is a crucial pillar in our approach. We have started a proactive partner program to connect new organizations and provide current partners with all the necessary support to use our data platform.
Our successful experience and knowledge in applying ICT to various technical challenges are extremely useful in saving costs, minimizing risks, and allowing collaboration to flourish.
