At Yamicc, we value your privacy. This privacy statement (“Privacy Statement”) explains how we process your personal data, for what purposes, on what legal basis, and what rights you have.

2. Who is Yamicc?

Yamicc is a Dutch foundation that initiates, facilitates, and coordinates large-scale collaborations aimed at identifying effective treatments for cancer, with a particular focus on rare cancers. To support this mission, we develop next-generation clinical research technology and connect an ecosystem using technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (“AI”). In the course of our organizational and support activities, we process personal data of website visitors and donors.

3. Scope

This Privacy Statement applies when Yamicc processes your personal data, for example when you:

  • visit our website;
  • contact us via the website or by email;
  • make a donation to Yamicc;
  • sign up to receive updates or newsletters (if applicable).

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as name, email address or financial information.
Processing means any operation performed on personal data, such as collecting, storing, using, modifying, or deleting it.

4. How We Collect Personal Data

We receive personal data directly from individuals through our website, for example when you contact us or make a donation. In addition, we receive limited administrative information from our payment service provider in connection with donations, such as the donation amount and payment status. We do not receive or otherwise process full payment details.

Cookies are small files placed on your device when visiting our website https://yamicc.org.  On our website we only use functional cookies. These cookies are technically necessary to ensure the website operates correctly.  Through these cookies, limited technical data may be processed, such as your IP address and language preferences, in order to remember user settings or enable core website functionalities.

6. Purposes and Legal Bases

Depending on your relationship with Yamicc, we process personal data for different purposes. Below is an overview of purposes, the data processed, and the legal basis:

Employees of Yamicc have access to personal data only when necessary to perform their tasks as described above.

Third parties
We share personal data only with third parties when necessary to provide our services, including:

  • Groviders of general internal IT systems, e.g., STRATO
  • Payment service providers, e.g. Stichting Mollie Payments
  • Financial and legal service providers

We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

At Yamicc, we take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss, unauthorized access, or misuse. These measures include restricting access to personal data to authorized personnel only, using secure IT systems and hosting providers within the European Economic Area, and working with a certified payment service provider for the processing of donations. We regularly review our security measures and have procedures in place for reporting and handling personal data breaches in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Under data protection law, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: request which personal data we process about you
  • Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure: request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to restrict processing: request temporary restriction of processing
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured format or transfer it to another organization
  • Right to object: object to certain processing, e.g., based on legitimate interests
  • Right to withdraw consent: when data is processed based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time

We will verify your identity before processing your request. Donation Terms

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in supporting our foundation. Yamicc is a foundation with ANBI (Public Benefit Organisation) status. By making a donation through our website, you support our mission and the public benefit we pursue.

These donation terms explain, in a clear and accessible way, how one-time donations made via our website are handled.

1. About the foundation

Yamicc is a foundation established under Dutch law and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 95190112.

2. Purpose and use of donations

Yamicc is committed to achieving its statutory objectives. Donations are used to support these objectives and the activities connected with them. Yamicc retains discretion to allocate donations within its objectives, should circumstances require this.

3. Making a donation

A donation is completed once the payment via the website has been successfully processed.
Donations are made voluntarily and without any consideration in return.

4. Nature of the donation

Donations made through the website are one-time gifts.
No individual rights, claims or entitlements can be derived from a donation, including in relation to specific allocation, reporting or outcomes.

5. Irrevocability

Donations are, in principle, irrevocable.
In the event of an evident error or an undue payment, you may contact the foundation so that an appropriate solution can be reviewed together.

7. Privacy

In order to process donations, the foundation processes limited personal data, such as name, contact details and information relating to the donation. Payment details are processed by the external payment service provider. Further information on how personal data is handled can be found in our privacy statement.

9. Liability

Yamicc endeavours to use donations carefully and in line with its objectives.
Yamicc makes no guarantees as to specific results or outcomes of its activities.
